There are definitely some people that are born into families that instill great beliefs and unconditional love in them from the start. And those people are likely able to manifest everything they want in life with no issues. Usually though, that’s not the case, and we are given challenges and wrong beliefs that we need to overcome. It’s part of our life path though, and nothing we did wrong. It’s part of our learning and growth in this life.
Inner Child Pain
Often as a child, we experience things that make us believe we are unworthy, unlovable, and that life is a struggle. We have programming instilled in us at a young age that can be challenging to override. While some people are able to see it and make changes earlier on, most people go through many challenges and lessons in life as an adult before they really start to see those wrong beliefs and take steps to heal all those old wounds. But many never get to that point and ride out the pain and dysfunction in their own life until the end.
The fact of the matter is though, you came here to live your best life, but first you will have to work through all those lessons and all that healing you need to do if you want it. We need to go through the pain of it all to open our eyes and make us reach for better. It’s about learning to love ourselves enough to want better for ourselves. And to also develop our own faith in the Divine to understand that we are always guided, always led, and always being offered better if we can lift ourselves up enough to believe that we are worthy of it.
Finding the Origin of Our Beliefs
While some may just have issues around one area of their life, others may have full-blown worthiness issues from childhood that affect all areas of their life. It is not uncommon to have this, as self-worth really affects everything for us sometimes. It just depends on how you were raised – if you saw nothing but struggle, misery and challenges in certain areas, you likely believe that is all that is out there for you too. It’s also important how YOU were treated as a child (and not just what you witnessed), because that very strongly affects your level of self-worth.
Personally, my childhood was one of watching the misery and chaos of my parents. The fear, the stress, the control, the addiction, and all the breakdowns around it all – to include the endless financial struggles. Not to mention the fact that one parent was a manipulative alcoholic, and the other was emotionally checked-out, not able to deal with it all. It was a rather heartbreaking situation growing up. It definitely affected my self-worth, beliefs, and feelings of lovability in every way.
How Childhood Beliefs Affect You as an Adult
My level of self-worth was so bad in my late 20’s/early 30’s that I married a manipulator as well. I’ve actually never told anyone this, because I was so ashamed of it, but at the start of our marriage he constantly verbally abused me. He was a Cop, and also in the military, and he would use all his learned torture techniques on me as a means of control. It went as far as taking me to remote locations and locking me in the car to do it sometimes too.
I remember telling him one day that I couldn’t take it anymore and I was going to kill myself (and I meant it), and he shrugged it off. But then came some beautiful Divine intervention for me. He decided we should get a couple dogs, and then he left to go overseas for the Gulf war – and I finally had some peace and felt loved by my new pups. And only then did I start to get stronger in my self-love and worthiness.
Healing, Forgiveness and Compassion
I know this may sound like I’m angry about it all, but I’m not. I was of course while I was working through it and healing it all! You really do need to get all that anger out. But I have really unearthed all these realities for myself already and spent time healing it. I can see it clearly now. Everyone is on their own path of learning and growth in this lifetime. I can now (after healing it all) have some compassion for the fact that my parents and my ex also had challenging upbringings, and many worthiness issues they were dealing with themselves.
I can now understand why my childhood and the old beliefs drove me in the wrong direction for so long, though – limiting the life that I was able to create for myself. It was all part of my path. I can see that they were all put in my life to challenge me to rise above it all. They were part of my own journey of learning and growth. And I have learned how to let it all go and establish new beliefs in my own faith and self-love.
Though I should also say that if people are still in your life with the same issues, to ensure that you have boundaries. Healing and understanding is good if you can get there, but sometimes distancing yourself as much as you can, having awareness, and creating boundaries for yourself is an act of self-love – and required for your own well-being.
You are the Creator of Your World
Really, we are born into this world as perfect beings, filled with unconditional love and the ability to manifest anything we want. That is a God-given ability. It’s the challenges that are put in our path that change our views. The issues, the limiting beliefs, the emotional warfare, the pain, the heartbreak, the despair, the dysfunction, the financial struggles…. There is so much sometimes, and it molds and shapes us. But it doesn’t change who you came here as.
It’s a matter of shedding all of that, so that you can go back to that amazing being you came here to be. Who is total love, joy, abundance and belief in all that is possible. The greatest manifestor ever – of anything and everything you desire! It’s all of us. It’s only these limiting beliefs that are put upon us or that we establish over the course of our lives that keep us from having it all. These beliefs can keep us from the career we dream of, the unconditional love we desire, the health, the abundance, the peace, and the pure joy.
Healing Your Inner Child
So how do you get back to that point? How do you heal that inner child who has been so deeply shoved into those painful dark caves in our heart? It’s about actively seeking to heal yourself. Mind you, for many it will take finding skilled healers to help you find your way out. But for others it might be much easier and be just about awareness and changing your responses and reactions. No matter what you need, healing is possible.
I have been proactively working with healers for about 10 years now – most ‘aggressively’ this past year – and I feel like I’ve finally found my way out from under it all. I feel like over the last 10 years I’ve employed an army of energy healers, therapists, psychics, shaman, intuitives, past-life regression healers, hypnotherapists, reiki masters, and more. Crazy! Mind you, I’m not saying this is what it will take for you. For me, I know I was also learning about all of these types of healers so I could teach people about it later – which is part of my own path and passion.
But I am saying that we all need to be proactive to heal ourselves and our inner child. We need to find what works for us to heal those old wounds. Why? Because your inner child is going manifest the life of your dreams. Truly. You need to help them out of that dark cave and give them the love they need.
Healing Your Old Beliefs
Who believes in dreams, miracles, magic, and total unconditional love? Children do. At least before adults damper it all with “reality”. Really though, children have it right. We can live in that world. That is the world we were meant to have. We are the creators of our lives. We just need to get ourselves back to those beliefs. Healing ourselves (and our inner child) is the only way.
You need to follow your gut and guidance on that too, if you desire to be healed. If you reach for it and start those conversations, pray for it, intend to be healed – you will be led to the healers or the information you need. Whether someone tells me about a book, or I have a gut feeling about calling a healer – I am always led. Mind you, there have been a few lessons along the way, too – but there always is. We are always learning.
The fact of the matter is, you can only manifest what you feel worthy of. You can only manifest at the level of your own deep-set beliefs of what is possible for you. So if you are actively trying to manifest a better life for yourself (see my video on manifestation techniques), and you aren’t able to move forward, then you may need to go back and focus on healing. Perhaps it’s time to take proactive steps in that direction so you can open yourself up to the ability to manifest your dreams? It’s all possible – heck, almost anything is possible if you truly believe it.
Spirituality, Divine Love and Surrender
I would also tell you that in alignment with me working on my healing was an equally strong path that paralleled it. I was working on my own spiritual beliefs and connection to the Divine. Because you can’t manifest it all alone. You are going to have to surrender it (in faith) to the Divine to bring it to you. And you are also going to have to recognize and follow Divine guidance. Yeah, okay, this sounds like it’s getting complicated and time consuming – LOL – but it’s the most beautiful journey, I promise. When you get to the point of having not only a loving relationship with yourself, but the Divine as well – to the point of being constantly guided, always feeling loved, and having strong faith that your dreams are being orchestrated behind the scenes – it all feels pretty amazing.
So while manifestation may have some behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done to really get to the best stuff in your life, it’s so worth it! Healing yourself, loving the Divine, communicating with your guides (this is easier than it sounds – I’ll teach more about this soon), and having a positive, happy, abundant life will make it all worth it. It’s a process, but you will see your life start to change for the better. It will be worth the work – and all the joy and magic that you can bring into your life.
