If you want to move forward in life, you have to make the effort. It’s true no matter how resistant we are, that we have to take those nudges seriously. The Universe nudges us, and we need to listen. We didn’t come here to suffer or even to be stagnant. We came her to grow, and learn, and overcome.
Fear is a Bully
Our biggest challenge though is fear. Fear of not being good enough mostly. Of not finding better. Or not being worthy of better. We get stuck in what’s comfortable, or even particularly uncomfortable, because we are afraid of making a change or taking a leap of faith. Fear is really our greatest challenge in life.
The thing is, for the most part, fear is not necessary. Not at all. Caution is necessary. Following your gut if something doesn’t feel right or feels dangerous or wrong. But fear is usually our ego holding us back from doing something out of our comfort zone – and usually something the Universe is nudging us to do. Fear builds it up to be something awful in our minds. Fear keeps us from stepping into our power, and our authenticity. Fear keeps us small.
So how do we overcome it? As with really any changes in our life, it starts with self-love. You have to find the confidence in yourself that you CAN overcome it. That you will be able to make the change – the leap – and everything will come out better. That faith in yourself and in the Universe to co-create an amazing life with you.
Digging Deep to Find Your Perfect Life
If you are struggling though, it’s likely you have beliefs about yourself, your worthiness, and even what’s possible for you that you need to overcome. I think we also tend to look at others and feel like we couldn’t possibly have a life that awesome. No, we couldn’t – it’s true – because our awesome life will look a lot different! It will be perfect for US! We need to stop comparing ourselves as well and wanting what others have, and instead honing in on who we are, what we want, and what is perfect for us in our own lives. And of course believing we will have it!
It does take work. If you can’t feel even the potential of any of this, then you have work to do. And you have to take the initiative to do it. Personally, I started going to a healer earlier this year for some Reiki work, only to realize she was capable of a lot more. She is doing some hypnotherapy, inner child work, life coaching and so much more. I can’t even tell you how much I’ve been able to clear and heal in the past months working with her. And I tell you, it’s not fun. It’s energetically draining, emotionally draining, and well, embarrassing at times. Digging up all the ‘muck’ in my life has been exhausting.
But you know what? I can see the changes already in my confidence, in my empowerment, and in the faith that I can get there. That the things I want are possible. I’m setting new goals, and dreaming bigger dreams. I’m taking charge of my life in a new way. It feels amazing!
Our Own Resistance
The truth is, I would have been resistant to this in past years. I would have said it was too much money to spend, been resistant to being so open, or wondered if it was really helping. But that would have been my own fears redirecting me. Now I can clearly see though that I need this, I want this, and it’s worth every penny. I’m throwing the fears aside. All of us have to reach that point of truly wanting something better for ourselves and being willing to make the sacrifices and the changes, and letting go of the fears. And then of course following our gut and the signs when the Universe shows us the way to help us get there.
Healing Avenues
Mind you, for me it was a healer – for you it might be a counselor, a book, a mentor, deep introspective work, or something else entirely. We all do the work and find our way through it to self-love in different ways, through different ways of healing. There is no wrong way. You have to do the work in the way that is right for you. But I can guarantee that at some point you will need to go back and unearth your old patterns, beliefs, and feelings that have been driving you – so you can release them and create new ones for yourself going forward.
I know I’ve made huge strides this year working with this healer, but in the past there was a lot of work that led up to that for me. I was led to many books, psychics, and even friends who helped to unearth my ‘issues’, if you will. The old beliefs and ways of being that were holding me back. I’ve definitely made a lot of changes over the years through many different outlets and means.
I feel like the work I’m doing this year is a whole new level of digging and unearthing things in the deepest caverns of my consciousness and beliefs. And I will continue digging it all out until I feel like I’ve truly and completely unearthed the real me. Before everyone put their beliefs and societal expectations on me. I want to move forward as my pure, authentic self – as I came to this planet to be.
Do the Work
So when I talk about doing the work, what I really mean is unearthing and healing your beautiful authentic self. The one who came here to shine your light and live a wonderful life. One that you truly deserve.
I’m encouraging you to take the time, make the effort, follow your gut and the signs on healing avenues – but just do it. Do the ‘work’ to bring forth that pure, beautiful soul within. It’s all up to you to take the steps to do it. But I guarantee it will change your life in the most magical ways!
